Melissa McKnight Photography, LLC was established as a business in 2004 but was in the making long before then. I was appointed as the “family” photographer at a young age due to the fact that my mom could not seem to take a picture of someone and get all of their appendages in the photo (mainly their heads!). So with that I developed a passion for photography and have the many boxes of photos and albums to prove it. Thanks Ma!

Not much has changed in my style over the years. I still love to photograph my family and now I have a niece and two nephews to chase around with my camera. I love to capture those little moments that you don’t want to forget and that is what I hope to do for my clients. The most pleasing thing for me to hear as a photographer is that I caught that perfect moment or that expression on a child’s face that only their parents would know. My approach to photography is pretty simple – sit back and let it happen. I don’t like to pose clients for every shot, rather interact with them and catch their reactions. It is even better when I can get them to forget that I am there and have them totally relaxed where their real personality shows (you know not the one that is thinking “chin up, shoulders back, toe pointed, all so I can lose 10 lbs. for this shot!). I feel that I have been blessed with a talent that allows me to do something that I love everyday. My photographs are an extension of me and shows you what the world is like through my eyes.
